M’Balu Webb
I’m a scientist with experience across multiple areas of diabetes research. My PhD and postdoctoral work focused on clinical islet transplantation, after which I spent six years as a Research Scientist/Laboratory Manager within the Leicester Diabetes Centre (LDC). During this time, I contributed to several research projects, including investigations into the role of depression as a risk factor for type 2 diabetes (T2D). After a seven-year period away from research, I recently re-joined the LDC as a Research Associate, where I am now focusing on early-onset type 2 diabetes (EOT2DM) while continuing work exploring the relationship between depression and T2D.
